Conrad Zwicky (* 1946 in Basel ) is a Swiss violist , organist and composer .

Zwicky was a member of the Lucerne Festival Strings from 1970–1972 , became deputy solo violist of the Tonhalle Orchestra (concert formation) in 1972 , and in 1979 played major solos as solo violist at the opera house at the opening of the June festival weeks. B. that in the opera Der Freischütz . For 20 years (until 1990) he was the violist of the Zurich Piano Quintet. CD recordings of piano quintets by Dvořák, Frank Martin, Martinů and many others bear witness to this.

For over 30 years he was organist and concert manager at the Bühlkirche Zurich (Wiedikon) and member of the Bavaria String Trio as well as solo violist of the Zürcher Streichersolisten , today a freelance musician and director of the international organ festival Zurich ("OrgelFest"), which took place every two years from 2005 to 2013. As a concert organist, he has traveled to many European countries (France, Luxembourg, Germany, Finland, Norway, Italy).

As a composer he has mainly appeared with literature for strings. His works have been performed more often in Switzerland, but also at international concerts such as B.
