Conselho de Cidadania
Conselhos de Cidadãos or Conselhos de Cidadania are informal and apolitical "advisory forums " ( foros de aconselhamento ) of the Brazilian consulates abroad, which are composed on a rotating basis and which have the goal of connecting Brazilians who live abroad with their respective consulate and thus to build a bridge between the Brazilian government and the Brazilians abroad . Its aim is to facilitate / facilitate the exchange of ideas and information gathering about the needs, problems and interests of the communities of Brazilian expatriates in their respective jurisdictions.
In 2011 the first Conselhos de Cidadania were created , consisting of members who were elected by their own community. In addition to the more than 50 Conselhos de Cidadãos that exist worldwide, there are currently (2014) Conselhos de Cidadania in the cities of Geneva , Zurich , Barcelona and Athens .
