The Constantines are an indie rock band from Ontario , Canada .
history
The Constantines were founded in 1999 after Shoulder , the band of Bryan Webb and Doug MacGregor, split up. Her first, self-titled album was a success on various college radios in the USA in 2001 and was nominated for a Juno Award . In 2003 and 2005 two more albums were released, the fourth album Kensington Heights was released in September 2008.
style
While the band's early albums correspond to their instrumentalisation typical of (indie) rock , Tournament of Hearts and Kensington Heights show a tendency towards the experimental. The sound, determined by two guitars, is repeatedly accompanied or interrupted by electronic inserts. Bryan Webb's rough vocals are also characteristic of the band .
