Conte (literature)
The conte ( French [ kõ: t ], "story", "fairy tale") is a literary narrative form. It is usually located between the novel and the novella , but a more detailed definition of the genre is only possible through a more detailed characterization of various individual features. The conte is often equated with the fairy tale , although there are differences.
The dit and the fabliau are related to the conte.
