contra | the talk was an Austrian television talk show on ORF eins that was broadcast from March to December 2011.
In the first few months it was moderated by Benny Hörtnagl , later also by Mari Lang . In the summer of 2011, Hörtnagl announced his withdrawal from the show and Lang took over the talk. Münire Inam was also used to represent Lang .

On Tuesdays, experts and those affected discuss a current topic. Initially, four guests were invited per broadcast, but from autumn 2011 there were only two. During the talk, viewers were able to tune in via the Internet and make video and chat comments.

The broadcast was included in the program by ORF Eins in order to reach younger viewers on Tuesday. In the first few weeks, contra | the talk comparatively weak ratings, so that the show was postponed forty minutes.
At the end of December 2011 the program was discontinued.
