Convicted is a Greek thrash metal band from Volos that was formed in 1998.
history
The band was formed in 1998 by guitarist and singer John Kospantsidis and bassist Socrates Konstantinou. In the following two years the band studied the first songs, did military service and looked for a suitable drummer and second guitarist. Jason Toufeksis was the drummer and Thanasis Stamopoulos was the guitarist. In the following six months they studied songs together before the first concert followed on December 13, 2002 in Volos, followed by another in Magos . In May 2003, drummer Toufeksis and guitarist Stamopoulos left the band. After Larry Kourtis joined the band as the new drummer, the group continued rehearsing. After a few appearances, the band moved to the RockSound Studio in Thessaloniki in December 2003 , with George Brigos working as a producer. This resulted in the debut album Nuclear Escape . In addition, the band made a promo demo that had an edition of 300 copies. With this, the band tried to get a contract with a label, but this did not succeed, so that the album was released as a self-release. This was followed by appearances with bands such as Septic Flesh , Integrity , Tankard , Unrest , Attacker and Heathen . In 2010 the second, self-titled album was released via Slaney Records .
style
The band plays classic, fast-paced thrash metal.
