Coolhull Castle ( Irish Caisleán Chuil Choll ) is a solid house on the Bannow Bay , about 4.6 km south-east of the village Wellingtonbridge in Irish County Wexford . It is considered a national monument .
history
There are few historical sources about Coolhull Castle, but it is known that the property belonged to a John Devreux in 1640 .
description
Coolhull Castle consists of a four-story tower for the servants and a three-story main building with a rectangular floor plan. There is the knight's hall on the first floor . Both parts of the building have Irish battlements . A crowd watchtower is attached to the northwest corner . The entrance through the tower is protected with a "killer hole". In addition, the building with open fireplaces, is abortion bay windows and a sink equipped.
