Coolhunting

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Coolhunting or trend hunt refers to the professional tracking down of trendsetters, the identification and commercialization of upcoming trends , especially lifestyle trends.

Coolhunting companies have specialized in using (trend) scouts to identify relevant developments as early as possible by continuously monitoring and interviewing the current youth culture . As soon as interesting facts have been identified by the Coolhunting company, they are further analyzed and processed in scenarios and reports.

These trend reports are then sold to the industry for mostly very high prices. Companies that buy trend reports expect to receive information about the latest product developments. In this way, companies learn from customers (e.g. young people on the street).

The following types of people are included in coolhunting: trendsetters, early adopters , technology evangelists and lead users .
