The Coppermine Cove is a cove on the western tip of Robert Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located immediately southeast of Fort William .
The bay is named after a deposit of copper discovered by sealers in 1821 . This name was originally intended for a much larger bay southeast of the west coast of Robert Island, but has now been established for the bay described here.
