Cornelia Grünberg

Cornelia Grünberg (born December 23, 1959 in Berlin ) is a German director and screenwriter.

Life

Grünberg studied directing and scriptwriting at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) from 1987. In 1994 she completed her studies as a director and author with the film adaptation of the novel "Paul Vier und die Schröders" by Andreas Steinhöfel.

Since then she has worked as a freelance writer and director for cinema and television. In 1999 she was a guest at the Berlinale with “Two in One Boat” . From 2001 to 2014 Cornelia Grünberg was a freelance lecturer for camera acting and film history at the Filmschauspielschule Berlin . In 2012 she was also a guest at the Berlinale with “VIERZEHN - Adult in 9 Months”.

In 2008 Grünberg started the “14-18-28” project: In her long-term documentary, she accompanies four fourteen-year-old girls who became pregnant unplanned and who have decided to have children. The first film "FOURTEEN - Growing up in nine months" shows the teenagers until the birth of their babies, the second film "EIGHTEEN - The risk of life" - the cinema premiere took place in September 2014 - the mothers and their children after four years. The third film is to accompany the children of the young women from birth to the beginning of puberty. In the fourth and last part, the women at the age of 28 and their children at the age of 14 are to be portrayed.

Grünberg has been on the board of the Bundesverband Regie (BvR) since 2018 and on the executive board since 2019.
