Cornelius Rigo de Bergis
Cornelius Rigo de Bergis , also Cornelis Rigo de Bergis , (* 15th or 16th century in Bergen op Zoom ?; † 16th century) was a Dutch Renaissance composer who worked in the early 16th century.
The name of the artist could be a pseudonym that indicates either his place of birth or his place of work, Bergen op Zoom . Rigo is known for two three-part works, both of which appear in a Habsburg chanson book as well as in later northern European sources. His work "Myn hert hefft altyt verlanghen" ("My heart always has desire.") Is closely based on a well-known Flemish song by the composer Pierre de la Rue . Here Rigo cleverly reduces the original four to three voices.
