The Cornish Pirates ( Korn. An Vorladron Gernewek) are an English rugby union team that plays in the RFU Championship , the second highest division in England.
The history of the association begins with the establishment of the two associations Penzance RFC (1876) and Newlyn RFC (1874). On November 22, 1945, both clubs merged to form Penzance and Newlyn RFC, later renamed Cornish Pirates. In the 1950s, the club was one of the best known in England. In the following decades, however, it lost its importance. From 2005 the Pirates played at Camborne Rec, previously they had been at Mennaye Field in Penzance . In 2010 they returned to their traditional homestead.
