The Coroa de Portugal is a crown in Portugal .

It is a symbol of the Portuguese monarchy from the beginning of the 19th century. The crown was from King John VI. Commissioned by Portugal in 1817 for its proclamation . It was made by the royal jeweler Antonio Gomes da Silva in Portugal. The crown was part of the Portuguese crown jewels , which also included the scepter of Armillary and the mantle of John VI. belonged to Portugal. The crown became the official crown of all other Portuguese kings who were named after John VI. ascended the Portuguese throne. The last time it was worn by King Manuel II for his proclamation and the opening of the Assembleia da República . The crown is currently kept in the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda along with the other items of the Portuguese Crown Jewels ; it is not open to the public for inspection.
