Corrachadh Mòr is a small hill at the end of a headland on the Ardnamurchan peninsula , Scotland . It is just south of the Point of Ardnamurchan and is known as the westernmost point in Great Britain . This is where the southern coastline of the peninsula, which stretches along Loch Sunart and the Sound of Mull , meets the northern coastline, which runs parallel to the islands of Skye , Muck , Eigg and Rum .

Depending on which coordinates are used, Corrachadh Mòr is 30.78 meters or 42.81 meters further west than the Point of Ardnamurchan. This is sometimes incorrectly viewed as the most westerly point on mainland Britain.

The name Corrachadh Mòr comes from Scottish Gaelic . Corrachadh is another spelling for the word comharrachadh (English: Marking, distinguishing ). Mòr means great; a corresponding German translation reads: large indicator .
