Point of Ardnamurchan
The Point of Ardnamurchan ( Scottish Gaelic : Rubha Aird nam Murchan ) on the Ardnamurchan peninsula is located near the westernmost point of the island of Great Britain at about 6 ° 14 ′ west longitude. It is therefore to the west of Belfast or Dublin on the island of Ireland to the west of Great Britain .
At the Point of Ardnamurchan is the Ardnamurchan lighthouse, inaugurated in 1849 .
Point of Ardnamurchan is sometimes considered to be the most westerly point on mainland Britain. But this is a little south of it on the headland Corrachadh Mòr .
