Cortisone myopathy

The Cortisonmyopathie is a muscle disease , which as a side effect with prolonged treatment with corticosteroids such as cortisol (often incorrectly as cortisone can called) occur. It manifests itself as a degeneration of the striated skeletal muscles with a loss of strength with paresis up to visible atrophy .
