Cosmo Park is a neighborhood in the Indonesian capital Jakarta .

Cosmo Park is located in Tanah Abang District in Central Jakarta City . Within Tanah Abang, Cosmo Park is located in the kelurahan (township) of Kebon Melati. The district is located on the 1.2 hectare roof of the nine-story shopping mall Thamrin City Mall. The less exclusive mall is part of the Jakarta City Center, a complex of offices, apartments, shopping and entertainment venues. Two skyscrapers with apartments frame Cosmo Park. The city district consists of 78 two-story, uniformly constructed houses, which are arranged in five blocks. It is located directly on the east bordering Waduk Kebon Melati, an artificial lake.
history
The district was built in 2009. The client was the Agung Podomoro Group, Indonesia's largest housing company . The construction company was PT Jakarta Realty, a joint venture between Agung Podomoro and the state company Jakpro. According to the client, the construction of the district was already part of the original planning for the Jakarta City Center. The rent per house in 2019 was 25 million rupiah per month, about 1560 euros.
Cosmo Park has existed largely in secret for the population of Jakarta since its construction, until a Malaysian user of a camera drone published an aerial photo of the residential area on Twitter in June 2019 . Various media then took up the unusual location of the district.
Facilities
Cosmo Park has a public swimming pool, tennis court, laundry and mini-supermarket. The houses have gardens, a rarity in Jakarta, which is notoriously lacking in space. The district has a normal street system like ground-level districts and is connected to the Jalan Kebon Kacang Raya artery via a ramp. Access to the quarter is limited by locking systems that can be operated with a special card. A fence surrounds the neighborhood to prevent the residents from accidentally falling.
