The Court Tomb of Aillemore is located about 8 km southwest of Louisburgh in the townland of Aillemore ( Irish An Aill Mhór ) in the west of County Mayo in Ireland . It is located near the top of a hill above the valley of the Bunsheenshough River, some 300 m away.

Court Tombs are among the megalithic chamber tombs ( English chambered tombs ) of the British Isles . With around 400 specimens, they are found almost exclusively in Ulster in the north of Ireland.

The Cairn des Court Tombs rises to the height of the gallery stones (about 1.5 m high) and is over 16.0 meters long and 14.0 meters wide. The 3.2 m long and 2.0 m wide gallery consists of 2 chambers and a small side chamber almost hidden under the gravel of the Cairn.

The courtyard is covered by cairn material and field boundaries. The hallmark of the relatively well-preserved megalithic complex is the steep application of large slabs of the cairn, especially on the north side of the gallery.
