The Crary Fan (English for Crary fan ) is a deep sea formation in the Weddell Sea . It lies off the coast of the East Antarctic Coatsland .

The formation was named at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute . The namesake of the name recognized by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features in June 1997 is the American geophysicist Albert P. Crary (1911–1997).
