Cream VIII is a German gothic rock band founded by Boris Brosowski.

history

1992–1994 CREAM8 (The Project)

In autumn 1992 singer and keyboardist Boris Brosowski started the solo project CREAM8. Named for the license plate number of a hearse in Rupert Thomson's Das Dunkle Herz der Stadt ( The Five Gates of Hell ). In 1993, the first release The Crimson Dance EP was completely recorded on a 7 "vinyl record. At the same time, the tape label Beton Tapes released the album Enhanced .

1994–1997 CREAM 8 (The Band)

After finishing the recordings for The Crimson Dance , the guitarist Sascha Lecher joins them. The CD The Emerald Touch (SOD / SPV ) will be recorded together in the Euskirchen studio of the band The House of Usher . The opener of the album Water Feels so Comfortably Warm will precede the much acclaimed German Mystic Sound Sampler CD from Zillo magazine as the opener and is developing into a popular hit scene. The line-up of the first tour in 1994/95 is completed by bassist Jochen Autschbach.

1997-2000 Cream VIII

With the renaming to Cream VIII, the solo project becomes a band around Brosowski, Lecher and Autschbach. 1997 and 1998 the second album Touching Ground is recorded. This includes the cooperation Cernata Semja with the Macedonian band Kismet about Brosowski's experiences during his one-year stay in Bulgaria. The band gives various concerts in Belgium and Germany, supported by Sascha Klein on guitar. A concert in Eeklo, Belgium will be released as Forgiven Live . With the departure of Jochen Autschbach in 1999, the group fell apart.

2004-2018 Cream VIII

In 2004 Boris Brosowski recorded new pieces for Cream VIII in his own studio and both Sascha Lecher and Sascha Klein participated. The band receives a record deal with the independent label Sonorium. In addition to the third regular album Wintertime (German Metal Rock Charts Höchstplatzierung Pos. 24, Deutsche Alternative Charts Höchstplatzierung Pos. 7), the band released a best-of CD Past to the Past as well as a recording of an acoustic concert from the same year under the title Bare . A tour begins in October that includes both German and English (London, Brighton, Leeds) gigs. The opening act for Cream VIII on the tour was Devilish Presley . In 2005 the band was completely reshuffled, which now appears in the line-up of Brosowski, Lecher, Sonntag, Krötz and Schwipperich. At the end of 2006 the group fell apart again.

From 2008 Cream VIII consisted of Brosowski and Sonntag. There were recorded two demo EPs, F-North and e . The duo stopped performing. In May 2018, Cream VIII's last official music video, "This Burning", was released. Critics again attested a "skilful blend of the cold, clinical noir drama of the Gothic gurnders and the modern darkwave ..." (dancingaboutarchitecture.com).
