Cream soda

Cream soda ( English for " cream - brause ") is a type of soft drinks that is widespread mainly in English-speaking countries .

The name of these drinks goes back to a recipe that actually combined soda water ( carbonated drinking water) with egg and cream or milk, similar to an ice cream float ; EM Sheldon published a recipe for this in 1852. Today, however, contains cream soda , none of these three ingredients more, but refers to a carbonated shower with vanilla flavor . It can be clear or dark with caramel and occasionally contains caffeine .

Very common that is cream soda in the United States , there is A & W Cream Soda , the best-known brand, which was introduced in 1986 and has been available since 2017 without caffeine. In Germany and Austria, the cream soda is only found sporadically and does not belong to the typical range of goods.

Popular culture

Apple founder Steve Wozniak built his first hobby computer in 1971, which he called the Cream Soda computer because he and his friends consumed a lot of this drink at the time.
