Crispino Bergamaschi

Crispino Enrico Bergamaschi (born June 15, 1963 in Muri ) is a Swiss - Italian engineer and President of the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (FHNW).

Life

After attending school in Wohlen , Bergamaschi initially trained as an electrical mechanic . He studied electrical engineering at the HTL Brugg-Windisch (which today belongs to the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW). After graduating in 1986, he studied at the ETH Zurich and was awarded a Dr. sc. techn. PhD.

He was initially a lecturer at the evening technical center in Zurich and then professor for microelectronics at the Aargau University of Applied Sciences (FHA). He was director of research and development at the Aargau University of Applied Sciences and, as a member of the school management, was involved in the cross-school strategy development of the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences .

In 2001 he was elected by the government council to succeed Hans Rudolf Troxler as the new rector of the University of Technology + Architecture (HTA) of the Central Switzerland University of Applied Sciences , from 2007 Lucerne School of Technology & Architecture . He was a board member of the technology, architecture and life science conference (ftal). On May 27, 2010, the FHNW University Council elected him to succeed Richard Bührer as President of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. He took office on January 1, 2011.

Bergamaschi is married and has two children.
