Cristóbal Ramírez de Cartagena
Cristóbal Ramírez de Cartagena (* before 1550; † 1594 ) was a Spanish lawyer who temporarily served as Viceroy of Peru from 1583 to 1585 .
Since Ramírez was a judge ( Oidor ) at the Real Audiencia of Lima , he must have had legal training in Spain . At the time of Viceroy Martín Enríquez de Almansa's death , Ramírez was the oldest (service) judge of the Audiencia, which means that he was born before 1550.
With the death of Enríquez, Ramírez took over the official duties and handed them over with the arrival of the new viceroy Fernando Torres y Portugal . During the time he was in office, printing was introduced in Peru.
