Criterion was a philosophical journal in the Catalan language . It first appeared from 1925 to 1936 and then again from 1959 to 1969.

history

The magazine was founded as the first Catalan-language philosophical magazine in 1925 by the Capuchin Miquel d'Esplugues , who was also the first director. It initially appeared every three months. As a result of the Spanish Civil War , its publication had to be discontinued in 1936. After 1959 it contained collections of philosophical and religious subjects. The new director was Basili de Rubí , who was briefly replaced by Àlvar Maduell . The collection was supposed to become a magazine, but the Francoist press laws under Minister Manuel Fraga Iribarne did not allow it. So the magazine had to be discontinued in 1969.
