The member companies offer services in the areas of auditing , tax advice , management advice , legal advice and governance, risk & compliance services.
With 42,000 employees in over 700 locations in 130 countries and sales of USD 4.4 billion (2019), Crowe Global is one of the top 10 international accounting firms . In Germany, Crowe Global ranks 6th among the networks / alliances active in Germany with independent member companies with 960 employees and a turnover of 106.8 million (2014).
Origin and brand
The history of the network began in 1915 with the founding of the Horwath & Horwath company by the brothers Edmund and Ernst Horwath. The two Hungarians emigrated from Budapest to the USA in 1907 and started their business as auditors in the hotel industry . For the worldwide presence of Horwath & Horwath, the association Horwath & Horwath International Associates was founded in 1960 and renamed Horwath International in 1989. It has been called Crowe Horwath International since 2009. The "Crowe" stands for Crowe, Chizek and Company (today Crowe Horwath LLP), the largest member company in the USA, named after the founder Fred P. Crowe Sr. Since 2018 the network has been called Crowe Global
