Crivina de Sus (1924: Crivina , German: Kriwina , Hungarian: Felsőgörbed ) is a village in Timiș County , Banat , Romania . Crivina de Sus belongs to the municipality of Pietroasa .

Geographical location

Crivina de Sus is located in the far east of Timiș County, on the border with Hunedoara County , 4 kilometers from Pietroasa and 25 kilometers from Făget .

history

The village of Krywyna was first mentioned in 1514, when the settlement belonged to Schoimosch Castle , which was owned by Georg von Brandenburg who, through the marriage of the widow of Johann Corvinus , the illegitimate and only son of King Matthias Corvinus , became their property came.

The wooden church from Crivina de Sus dates from 1676. It is the oldest wooden church in the Banat and is a listed building . The church is located on a hill in the middle of an Orthodox cemetery and is dedicated to Saint Paraschiva.

On the Josephine land survey of 1717 the place is registered with 10 houses. After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) the Banat became a Habsburg crown domain . After the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Hungary within the Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy . The official place name was Felsőgörbed . The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the Banat being divided into three parts, whereby Crivina de Sus fell to the Kingdom of Romania .

Crivina de Sus was always inhabited by Romanians.
