Jedinica za specijalne operacije ( JSO ; Serbian - Cyrillic Јединица за специјалне операције , ЈСО; German  unit for special operations ), unofficially Crvene Beretke ( Serbian - Cyrillic беретке Црвене ; German  Red Berets ), was a 1991 established Serbian paramilitary special unit , the first of Croats Franko Simatović ("Frenki") was commanded. The classification in the defense structure of the Serbian-Montenegrin confederationis not exactly possible because she operated mostly freely. However, subordination to the Serbian Ministry of Internal Security (JDSB) is assumed. According to media reports, the unit comprised 1700 people.

Formed from supporters of nationalist parties and associations or people with a criminal past, this unit was, according to various Serbian sources (Vreme, Danas), primarily through war crimes against civilians (especially in Bosnia-Herzegovina ), execution orders against non- Serbs (but also Serbs ) and domination known in different segments of organized crime (especially drug trafficking , extortion of protection money ). Most had gained war experience in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia or Kosovo.

In terms of supplies, it is said to have even had priority over regular units of the Serbian-Montenegrin Army . The last commandant was the former Foreign Legionnaire Milorad Ulemek "Legija", who as a member of the " Zemun clan " is said to have initiated the assassination of the Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić .

The unit was disbanded in 2003.
