Csaba Szekeres ( ˈtʃɒbɒ ˈsɛkɛrɛʃ ) (born January 30, 1977 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian cyclist .

Athletic career

Csaba Szekeres was the Hungarian road racing champion in 1998 and finished second in the individual time trial . In 2000 he joined the Italian cycling team Selle Italia , for which he rode for three years. In 2001 he was national runner-up in road racing, in 2002, 2003 and 2004 national runner-up in time trial, in 2005 he won the national time trial title. He started four times at the UCI Road World Championships in the individual time trial. After he was third in the Hungarian road championship in 2007, he ended his cycling career.
