Breunsberg is a district of the Johannesberg municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Aschaffenburg . It has an area of ​​166 ha and consists of 546 inhabitants.

history

On September 5, 1160, Breunsberg was first mentioned in a document about a Menelaus, listed in the necrology of the collegiate church of St. Peter and Alexander in Aschaffenburg .

The municipality of Breunsberg belonged to the Alzenau district office , which was formed on July 1, 1862. On January 1, 1939, this became part of the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia . In the middle of the 20th century the school in Breunsberg (which is now used as a kindergarten) was built and inaugurated on May 15, 1955.

On July 1, 1972, the incorporation to Johannesberg was completed as part of the regional reform . On August 17, 1997, the Breunsberg Chapel to the Good Shepherd was inaugurated with a pontifical ministry by Auxiliary Bishop Helmut Bauer .

Mayor of the former municipality of Breunsberg

The first (?) Mayor of Breunsberg was Johann Adam Nohe in 1812 . The mayor Paulus Wombacher reports from the year 1859. From 1876 onwards, the mayor's successes can be determined without any gaps. The Breunsberg School was established during his term of office. He was in office until 1972 when Breunsberg was incorporated into Johannesberg .
