Wenighösbach is located north of the core town on the Hösbach flowing through the town and has 982 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011) . history

The place was first mentioned in the last third of the 13th century as "minori Hostebach" in the Mainz lift roll . During the Napoleonic Wars (1792–1815), Russian troops passing through were quartered in Wenighösbach in 1814, for which the community had to pay for their meals worth 1,600 guilders. The remaining debt from this claim could only be paid off in 1872.

On July 1, 1862, the district office of Aschaffenburg was formed, on whose administrative area Wenighösbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Wenighösbach was now one of the 33 communities in the old district of Aschaffenburg . On July 1, 1972, this merged with the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia to form the new Aschaffenburg district.

The parish church of St. Barbara was consecrated on September 28, 1930. On January 1, 1972 Wenighösbach was incorporated into Hösbach and thus gave up its political independence.

In 1958, Pastor Karl Seitz (1911–1967) and Kuratus Sigmund Simon (1935–2017) were honored as honorary citizens of Wenighösbach .

In the Kahlgrundstraße there is a listed rock called the "Großstoa". A 50 to 100 year old bird cherry has been identified as a remarkable natural monument in the municipality . It is one of the regionally important trees in Lower Franconia .

Münchhof

The Münchhof is on the district of Wenighösbach southeast of the town. From 1308 to 1803 it belonged to Schmerlenbach Monastery . After that, the property fell to the Principality of Aschaffenburg under Karl Theodor von Dalberg , who gave it to the Aschaffenburg pastoral seminary he founded on January 20, 1807. On October 31, 1887, the farm with a total area of ​​64.5 hectares became the property of a cooperative of 50 landowners from the Wenighösbach community for a price of 70,000 marks .
