In 1812 the village of Unterafferbach, with 32 fireplaces and 180 souls (inhabitants), belonged to the Kaltenberg district fairie in the Aschaffenburg department of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt, which had replaced the Kaltenberg bailiwick office. Mayor was Valentin Kraus, adjunct Michel Kraus. After the resolutions of June 30, 1828 and January 8 and 14, 1829, the Kaltenberg Regional Court was dissolved. Unterafferbach came to the Aschaffenburg district court. In 1833 Unterafferbach consisted of 32 houses, 226 inhabitants and a mill. On July 1, 1862, the district office of Aschaffenburg was formed, on whose administrative area Unterafferbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Unterafferbach was now one of the 33 communities in the old district of Aschaffenburg . On July 1, 1972, this merged with the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia to form the new Aschaffenburg district.
Unterafferbach had its own chapel as early as the 14th century . Today's church under the patronage of St. Wendelin was consecrated in 1928.
The first schoolhouse was built in 1812. The school teacher at that time was Mr. Anton Kraus. Before that, the children had to go to Goldbach for lessons . In 1879 the Unterafferbach volunteer fire brigade was founded. The town received its first telephone connection on June 6, 1906, and in 1922 it was connected to the power grid. Unterafferbach was very rural well into the 20th century, but meanwhile there are hardly any rural farms.
