  • Chile: 100 meters = 119 varas, which means 1 vara = 0.840336 meters
    • Chile: 1 Cuadra = 150 Varas = 127.119 meters
  • Argentina ( Buenos Aires ), Paraguay: 1 Cuadra = 150 Varas = 129.9 meters
  • 1 Cuadra = 150 Varas = 450 Pié
  • 40 cuadras = 1 legua ( mile ) = 6000 varas = 5196 meters
  • Uruguay (since 1862): 1 Cuadra = 100 Varas = 85.9 meters
    • Uruguay (area and field measure): 10,000 square varas = 7378.81 square meters
