The village of Cuandixia ( Chinese  爨 底下 村 , Pinyin Cuàndǐxia Cūn ) is a village of the large municipality of Zhaitang ( 齋堂 鎮 ) in the western Beijing district of Mentougou . It is said to have been founded by the Han ( 韩氏 ) family from Shanxi Province in the Yongle era (1403–1424) of the Ming Dynasty . It owed its ascent during the Qing Dynasty to its convenient location .

The ancient architecture of the village Cuandixia ( Cuandixiacun gu jianzuqun 爨 底下 村 古 建筑 群 ) from the time of the Ming to Qing dynasties has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-312) since 2006 .
