Cuatro X was a German thrash metal band from Hamm in the eastern Ruhr area .

Band history

Thorsten Grams, Stephan Hausberg, Marco Schuster and Tobias Breer founded the band in 1998. The band started to cover songs by Metallica . But after a short time their own songs were written. Cuatro X are musically inspired by bands from the thrash metal scene. The first demo CD was released in August 1998 and is simply called X . It was recorded over two days and includes the first four songs. In October 1998 Cuatro X won the young talent competition in Hamm and outbid seven other bands. After a short time Oliver Prill joined the band and played the second guitar for a fatter sound. The second demo CD called At Nightfall was released in 2000. Cuatro X took more time, from March to May 2000, to record the new songs. At Nightfall got some good reviews in internet fanzines and magazines like Eternity , Heavy or what !? , Metal Heart and Legacy . In January 2002 bassist Marco Schuster left the band. Between July and October 2002, Cuatro X went to Ragers Elite Studio and recorded new material in collaboration with Alexander Cwirtnia ( Delirious ). Stefan Heeke ( Osyris ) played the bass track. The material was mastered by Kai Kneutgen in the Gernhart Studio. The CD The Last Days was released on December 30, 2002. Michael Smykalla joined the band as the new bass player and Sascha Winterink replaced the drummer Tobias Breer. Cuatro X got a record deal with the label TTS-Media-Music (later: SinSin Records). In the period from March to April 2004 Cuatro X recorded the debut album Hatefront in the TTS Media Music Studios (later: Dreamlake Studios) . The CD was released through Alive in 2006 due to some delays on the part of the label . The new album got good reviews, among others, in magazines like Metal Hammer or Legacy . Many concerts all over Germany followed . Torsten Diekmann replaced the drummer Sascha Winterink. In 2007 the band broke up.
