The Cuchilla Negra is a range of hills in Uruguay .
It is part of the Cuchilla de Haedo and is located on the territory of the Departamentos Rivera and Artigas in northern Uruguay and southern Brazil . The Cuchilla Negra rises as a distinctive cuesta from the 42,000 km² trapezoid lying within Uruguay to heights of 300 to 400 meters. Isolated mountains (Cerros), either standing alone or arranged in a row, have emerged from erosion. While the Cuchilla ends to the east on steep slopes, in the west it gently merges into the landscape.
