Cuno Adams

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cuno Adams (* 1912 ; † July 11, 1942 ) was a German painter from Solingen .

Life

At the age of 30, Cuno Adams died on July 11, 1942 in a field hospital as a private in a pioneer regiment. Adams thus belongs to the lost generation of artists who were not allowed to carry out a life's work. Thus only the artist's early work is available. Stylistically, he soon broke away from naturalism and developed his contribution to expressive realism typical of the time . The atmospheric density of his pictures reveals his talent.

The Solingen city archive mentions Cuno Adams, who was commissioned by the city in 1941. At that time, the city of Solingen took over the traditional pewter foundry workshop and commissioned Adams to document it in its original location.
