Sabine Schade-Lindig

Sabine Schade-Lindig , née Sabine Lindig (* March 1967 ) is a German prehistorian and deputy state archaeologist for the state of Hesse .

Life and career

Sabine Schade-Lindig studied at the University of Mainz and received her doctorate in 1997 under Niels Bantelmann with a thesis on "Ancient and Middle Neolithic finds in the Mannheim area" . After temporary employment as excavation manager in the former Department of Archaeological and Paleontological Monument Preservation of the State Office for Monument Preservation Hesse (LfDH), she was later taken on as a district archaeologist in the state service. As such, she was responsible for the Lahn-Dill district , the Limburg-Weilburg district and the Wetterau district for many years . Since 2016 she has been the deputy archaeologist of the federal state of Hesse and thus also deputy head of the Hesse ARCHAEOLOGY department at the LfDH headquarters in Wiesbaden . She heads Section A III: District Monument Preservation with locations in Darmstadt, Marburg and Wiesbaden. In addition, she continues to look after the Wetterau district as a district archaeologist.

Sabine Schade-Lindig is married to the archaeologist Christoph Schade.

Focus of work

Schade-Lindig is a proven connoisseur of the ceramic band culture in Central Europe.
