Curly Thirlwell
Curly Thirlwell (born November 18, 1905 , † December 2, 1985 ; actually Edward Thirlwell ) was an American sound engineer . During his career, he was nominated twice for an Oscar for Best Sound : at the 1976 Academy Awards for the musical film Funny Lady and at the 1978 Academy Awards for The Buddy Holly Story . He also received an Emmy nomination for the television film Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years .
