The Curphey Peaks are two snow-covered mountains, each around 1760 m high, in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . They tower on the east side of Helix Pass in the Bowers Mountains .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1983 after Ian Curphey, head of research for the geological team led by Malcolm Gordon Laird (1935-2015), who carried out explorations in the area between 1974 and 1975 as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program .
