Curt Lewinnek (born Curt Lewin or Curt Levy ; born April 23, 1904 in Prague ; † unknown) was a German Kapellmeister and composer .

The musician of Polish origin was already known in Berlin in 1924 for his performances with his band. A little later, records by him and his orchestra appeared, and he was also active as a composer. Among other things, he composed Once I believe in your love for the famous singer Joseph Schmidt .

With the beginning of the sound film era, he also worked for film. Usually he intoned the film music with his orchestra, then he also took over the arrangement and composed the music for three films himself.

The seizure of power by the National Socialists meant the sudden end of his career for the “non-Aryan” Lewinnek. He was deported to a concentration camp and never returned to Germany. After the end of the Second World War, he still composed the music for several French films.
