Cyclone3 is a free , modular content management framework and a content management system engine. It is the first free CMS to use the Mozilla Application Framework, and for administration it offers a XUL front end. Cyclone3 is licensed under the GNU General Public License .

It is currently used by the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation and the OpenDocument Fellowship's OpenDocument Validation Service.

Cyclone3 XULadmin

Cyclone3 XULadmin is a graphical user interface for the Cyclone3 framework. With the help of XULadmin, even normal users such as editors and editors can easily manage the content of a website. XULadmin is a complex tool for creating and managing articles, images, files, visitors, sitemaps, statistics, workgroups and much more.

The Cyclone3 XULadmin works as an extension for the Mozilla Firefox web browser . It uses technologies such as XML User Interface Language (XUL, description language for graphical user interfaces) for the frontend and Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) for communication with the server-side backend. The XULadmin front end was originally developed by Peter Nemsak and Michal Ondrovic.

history

Cyclone3 was originally developed by Roman Fordinal in 2000/2001 as a commercial content management system. At that time, for example, TV Markíza was using Cyclone3 for a period of three years.

During these years many new features were added to the system, which eventually led to the development of an application framework. All Cyclone3 applications are based on open standards and technologies such as XUL, DocBook , XML-RPC , SOAP and OpenDocument .

Technologies

Cyclone3 is developed using Perl , C / C ++ , Java , XUL, and JavaScript , which makes it possible to build robust, well-integrated, and specialized applications with Cyclone3.
