The Slovenský zväz ľadového hokeja ( German  Slovak Ice Hockey Association , SZĽH for short ) is the national ice hockey association of Slovakia , which was founded on February 2, 1993 . The association's office is located in Bratislava . The Slovak national ice hockey team represents the association at the international level . The president of the association is Martin Kohút.

The association includes 101 ice hockey clubs, with a total of 10175 players registered (as of June 18, 2018), made up of 2196 senior and 7979 junior players. There are also a total of 552 trainers and 357 referees. The association also has 71 ice hockey schools for children and 28 secondary ice hockey schools.

Game operation

The association is responsible for all game operations, except for the top division - the extra league , in Slovakia and operates the following divisions:

  • 1. hokejová liga SR : 16 teams in two regional groups
  • 2nd division: 14 teams in two regional groups
  • 1st division (women): 7 teams
  • Slovnaft Extraliga (U20 juniors): 14 teams
  • 1st division (U20 juniors): 12 teams
  • Extraliga (U18 juniors): 16 teams
  • 1st division (U18 juniors): 18 teams
  • Student League: a total of 120 teams in regional relays
