Cyril Abiteboul

Cyril Abiteboul (born October 14, 1977 in Paris , France ) is a French motorsport engineer and manager. From 2013 to 2014 he was the team principal of the Caterham Formula 1 team and is currently the team principal of the Renault Sport F1 team .

Life

Abiteboul received his education at the Lycée Carnot and Lycée Chaptal high schools in Paris and then studied multidisciplinary engineering at the Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble ENSEEG).

Career

After graduating in 2001, Abiteboul joined Renault in Boulogne-Billancourt. He was named Business Development Manager for the Renault F1 Team in 2007 and was named Executive Director of Renault Sport F1 in 2010. He joined the Caterham F1 Team in September 2012. On November 8, 2012, Abiteboul was named team principal of Caterham in place of Tony Fernandes.

In July 2014, after Abiteboul's departure from the Caterham F1 team was announced, Renault confirmed his return as team principal of Renault Sport F1.
