Déborah Giaoui (born May 13, 1980 in Paris ) is a French volleyball and beach volleyball player .
Career
Giaoui began her career as an indoor volleyball player in 1995 in the youth team of the Institut fédéral de volley-ball . She later played for CSM Clamart and in 2008 she moved to Saint-Cloud Paris Stade Français.
In 2003 Giaoui won the French beach volleyball championship with Kevinne Étienne . The next year the duo played their first international tournament at the Grand Slam in Marseille . After Giaoui had competed in several tournaments with Marjorie Molina in 2005, she first appeared at the Cape Town Open with Mathilde Giordano . At the European Championships in 2006 , the two French lost early with two defeats against the Greek Koutroumanidou / Tsiartsiani and the Bulgarian Yantschulowa sisters. A little later Giaoui therefore formed a new duo with Eva Hamzaoui , which had its first appearance in Acapulco . As ninth of the Marseille Open, Giaoui / Hamzaoui achieved a top ten result for the first time in 2008. In 2009 they were eliminated from the group of thirds in the preliminary round at the World Cup in Stavanger . In the same year they won the French championship. In 2010 Giaoui got together with her current partner Mélody Benhamou . At the EM 2011 in Kristiansand , the French did not get beyond the preliminary round, although they were tied with two other teams in their group.
