Then they took part in the Olympic tournament in Athens and lost the round of 16 against the Germans Stephanie Pohl and Okka Rau in three sets in front of their own audience .

In 2005 Maria Tsiartsiani became Koutroumanidou's next partner. The new duo reached the third round at the World Cup in Berlin , where they lost to the Chinese Li Ying / Wang Lu . In the losing round, the Greeks were eliminated by the Cuban semi-finalists Fernández / Larrea and finished ninth. In the same year, the two Russian teams Bratkowa / Judina and Schirjajewa / Urjadowa defeated Koutroumanidou / Tsiartsiani at the EM in Moscow .

After finishing ninth at the 2006 European Championships , the Greeks failed again in the first main round of the 2007 World Cup to Larissa / Juliana. The next year they were ninth again at the European Championships in Hamburg . Then they lost the Olympic round of 16 in three sets against the Australians Barnett / Cook .
