Beach volleyball European championship 1999

The 1999 European Beach Volleyball Championship took place from August 26th to 29th in Palma ( Spain ). The competitions for women and men were held in parallel. It was the sixth official women's championship and the seventh men's tournament. The Italians Laura Bruschini and Annamaria Solazzi defeated the French Anabelle Prawerman and Cécile Rigaux in the final , while the Czech duo Eva Celbová and Soňa Nováková-Dosoudilová prevailed in the duel for third place against the Germans Ulrike Schmidt and Gudula Staub . The Swiss brothers Martin and Paul Laciga successfully defended their title in the final against the Spaniards Javier Bosma and Fabio Díez . Last year's finalists Jan Kvalheim and Bjørn Maaseide came third this time. The winning duos each received 20,000 euros and 200 points for the world rankings.
