Sergei Alexandrowitsch Yermishin ( Russian Сергей Александрович Ермишин , also Sergey Ermishin or Sergey Yermishin transcribed; born June 4, 1970 in Saratov , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian beach volleyball player .

Career

Yermishin played his first international tournaments with Rushan Dayanov in 1996 and 1997 . In 1998 he could not achieve top placements on the side of Andrei Gorbenko . From 1999 he competed with Mikhail Kuschnerjow . At the World Championships in Marseille , the Russians finished 17th and then they finished ninth at the European Championships in Palma . They also came in ninth in two open tournaments. The following year they finished fifth in Rosarito and third in Tenerife . At the EM in Getxo they had to admit defeat to the Swiss duos Heyer / Egger and Kobel / Heuscher . In September they took part in the Olympic tournament in Sydney and lost to the Canadians Child / Heese in the round of 16 . In 2001 they achieved various top ten results on the FIVB tour. At the World Cup in Klagenfurt they lost in the round of 16 against the Swiss Laciga brothers, and at the European Championships in Jesolo the Austrians Doppler / Gartmayer and the Portuguese Maia / Brenha were too strong for the Russians.
