Beach volleyball European championship 2005

The 2005 European Beach Volleyball Championships took place from August 25th to 28th in Moscow ( Russia ). The competitions for women and men were held in parallel. It was the twelfth official women's championship and the thirteenth men's tournament. The Greeks Vasiliki Arvaniti and Vassiliki Karadassiou sat in the women's final against the Dutch duo Rebekka Kadijk and Merel Mooren , while the Germans Stephanie Pohl and Okka Rau won bronze. In the men's final, the Spaniards Pablo Herrera Allepuz and Raúl Mesa were successful against the Swiss Patrick Heuscher and Stefan Kobel . The dethroned defending champions Markus Dieckmann and Jonas Reckermann won the German duel for bronze against Christoph Dieckmann and Andreas Scheuerpflug .

mode

There were 24 teams each for women and men. The tournament was held in a double knock-out procedure. The winners received 20,000 euros per pair and 200 points for the world rankings.
