Inese Jursone (born November 13, 1981 in Limbaži ) is a Latvian beach volleyball player .

Career

Jursone completed her first international tournaments with Inga Vetra in 2000. From 2005 to 2012 she formed a permanent duo with Inguna Minusa . At the European Championships in 2006, the Latvians were eliminated after defeats against the Greek duo Arvaniti / Karadassiou and the Czechs Nakladalova / Tobiasova. The next year they finished 17th at the World Championships in Gstaad after being eliminated in the first main round against Tian Jia / Wang Jie . The subsequent EM in Valencia they finished ninth. At the next European Championships in Hamburg and the 2009 World Cup , they each achieved 17th place. Jursone / Minusa celebrated their greatest success so far at the European Championship in Sochi , when they won the final (17:15 in the tiebreaker) against the German defending champions Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig . The following EM tournament ended for the Latvians in the quarter-finals against the Finnish sisters Emilia and Erika Nyström . At the 2011 World Cup, they were eliminated as the bottom of the group after the preliminary round.
