Inguna Minusa (born August 17, 1977 in Riga ) is a Latvian beach volleyball player .

Career

Minusa completed her first international tournaments in 2000 with Inga Pūliņa . In her first World Cup participation in 2001 in Klagenfurt she was eliminated after the preliminary round without winning a set. The European Championships in 2003 in Alanya and 2004 in Timmendorfer Strand ended Minusa / Pūliņa in ninth place.

From 2005 to 2012 Minusa formed a permanent duo with Inese Jursone . At the European Championships in 2006, the Latvians were eliminated after defeats against the Greek duo Arvaniti / Karadassiou and the Czechs Nakladalova / Tobiasova. The next year they finished 17th at the World Championships in Gstaad after being eliminated in the first main round against Tian Jia / Wang Jie . The subsequent EM in Valencia they finished ninth. At the next European Championships in Hamburg and the 2009 World Cup , they each achieved 17th place. Jursone / Minusa celebrated their greatest success so far at the European Championship in Sochi , when they won the final (17:15 in the tiebreaker) against the German defending champions Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig . The following EM tournament ended for the Latvians in the quarter-finals against the Finnish sisters Emilia and Erika Nyström . At the 2011 World Cup, they were eliminated as the bottom of the group after the preliminary round.

Since 2011, Minusa has been playing alongside Ikauniece (formerly Pūliņa) again. At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki, Minusa / Ikauniece were eliminated without a win after the preliminary round.
